Job Description

Hypervolt is seeking an experienced EV Installer to join our growing team and help deliver an exceptional installation and ownership experience for customers across the UK. This is a founding field-based role that combines hands-on installation work with technical troubleshooting, customer support, and operational improvement. While you will carry out EV charger installations and commissioning, a significant portion of your time will be spent investigating customer issues, responding to technical callouts, diagnosing faults, and identifying opportunities to improve the overall customer experience. As one of Hypervolt's first dedicated field-based technical specialists, you will act as the bridge between customers, installers, operations, product, and engineering teams. You will be trusted to solve complex real-world problems, understand the root causes behind customer pain points, and provide valuable insights that help shape our products, processes, and installer network as we scale.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as Hypervolt's field-based technical expert for customer escalations and complex installation issues
  • Respond to customer callouts to diagnose and resolve charger faults, connectivity issues, commissioning failures, and installation-related problems
  • Conduct detailed root cause analysis across electrical infrastructure, charging hardware, software, connectivity, and user interactions
  • Work closely with Customer Support, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to investigate technical issues and improve resolution times
  • Perform maintenance, upgrades, remedial works, and technical inspections where required
  • Identify recurring customer issues and provide actionable recommendations that improve installation quality, reduce support volumes, and enhance the overall customer experience
  • Accurately document faults, root causes, resolutions, and customer interactions to support continuous product and operational improvements
  • Take ownership of customer issues from diagnosis through to resolution, ensuring customers receive a high standard of service throughout
  • Install, test, and commission Hypervolt charging units across residential and commercial properties
  • Ensure all electrical work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with current regulations and industry best practice
  • Carry out electrical testing, verification, and commissioning activities to ensure chargers are fully operational
  • Conduct site surveys and technical assessments to identify installation requirements and ensure successful project delivery
  • Complete installation certification and documentation accurately and on time
  • Support installation quality assurance initiatives and help maintain best-in-class installation standards
  • Deliver a first-class customer experience throughout the installation and ownership journey
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers before, during, and after installations or service visits
  • Provide guidance on charger functionality, app setup, smart charging features, and ongoing product use
  • Represent Hypervolt professionally at all times and act as a brand ambassador in the field
  • Build trust with customers and ensure every interaction reflects Hypervolt's commitment to exceptional service
  • Provide feedback on installation processes, tools, customer journeys, and operational workflows
  • Help identify opportunities to improve installation quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
  • Support the development of installation standards, troubleshooting guidance, technical documentation, and best practices
  • Contribute practical field insight to support the growth and evolution of Hypervolt's installer network
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and sharing best practices as the installation function expands
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure customer feedback is translated into meaningful operational and product improvements
  • Maintain the highest standards of installation quality and workmanship
  • Ensure compliance with BS7671 regulations, health and safety requirements, and company policies
  • Maintain accurate job records, certifications, and technical documentation
  • Maintain company equipment, stock, tools, and vehicles to a professional standard
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
