An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced European Business Development Manager to join a well-established, innovation-led packaging manufacturer and supply partner serving regulated and non-regulated markets across Europe. This role will suit a true new-business hunter who thrives on opening doors, winning new accounts, and building long-term commercial partnerships across pharma, health & wellbeing, lifestyle, and controlled-substance sectors. You will inherit accounts however will predominantly be expected to win new business. Operating across a defined European territory, you will be responsible for growing the current accounts whilst simultaneously identifying, securing, and developing new business opportunities for a broad portfolio of glass and rigid plastic packaging solutions, including bottles, jars, closures, dispensers, and associated components. The business combines in-house manufacturing capability with a strong stockholding and supply model, allowing you to offer customers flexibility, speed to market, and scalable solutions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Grow current accounts already established on the European mainland
  • Proactively identify and win new business opportunities across European markets
  • Act as a hunter, focused on opening new accounts before developing and growing them
  • Sell a comprehensive range of glass and rigid plastic packaging solutions
  • Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers in: Pharmaceutical, Health & wellbeing / vitamins & minerals, Lifestyle & fragrance, Controlled substances (e-liquid, medicinal cannabis)
  • Understand customer supply-chain challenges and position manufacturing and stock solutions accordingly
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to uncover growth opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with internal technical, operations, and supply-chain teams
  • Prepare and deliver professional proposals, presentations, and commercial agreements
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, exhibitions, and industry events

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in business development within packaging (glass and/or rigid plastics)
  • Background with a manufacturer, stockist, or hybrid supply business highly advantageous
  • Demonstrated success in winning new business across European markets
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Confident working autonomously across multiple countries
  • Comfortable selling into regulated markets
  • Willingness to travel across Europe (approx. 50%)
  • CRM experience (e.g. Salesforce) beneficial
  • Must speak fluent English & German
