Job Description

Plan, structure, lead and execute the deployment of network infrastructure build with variable risk and complexity. This may take the form of either a single large project or a number of smaller projects. Ensure health & safety standards are maintained by all visiting vendors & customers. Maintain close monitoring of cabling standards and ensure site records are accurate at all times. Speak out and raise concerns immediately. Consistently challenge costs to dive better value & realise efficiencies and benefits. Perform an effective interface role as required to work within the Italian H&S leglislative process. Use local knowledge to better understand customers & vendors alike. Be the face of Vodafone when dealing with customers and vendors ‘face to face’. Scope of this deployment role will also include ‘new site build’ management e.g working with and placing orders with our colocation providers and assessing space and power requirements and pricing demand.

  • Maintain relationship with VOIS & TCTS deployment specialists
  • Manage and control any changes to the deployment scope, including change management, using standard method and process
  • Take platform demands and turn them into floor plan/rack layout and power requirements
  • Work with Colo suplliers to locate available spaces and provide cost breakdown for NRC and MRC for provision into business cases

Requirements

  • Strong Fixed Network build capabilities including Transmission
  • Internet & MSP
  • Minimum 5 years experience in telecommunications field or Network operations environment demonstrating a strong background in transmission and data platform builds
  • with a clear understanding of the technologies used within Vodafone
  • Proven ability to investigate problem situations, consider key perspectives, analyse needs, evaluate options and define user requirements.
  • Capable of working in virtual teams in cross cultural working environment and at times of heavier workload to drive solutions
  • Strong team player with proven record of achieving goals set.
  • HNC or above in Engineering or Relevant technical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands on core network infrastructure build experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years project & programme management experience
