Job Description:

Under the supervision of the chief estimator, the estimator will have to determine the quantities of material needed to complete a project.

Job Responsibility:

  • Correctly interpret the technical specifications of tender documents
  • Record the quantities of reinforcing steel, wire mesh, and any other products related to the feasibility of the project
  • Follow the guidelines provided by the client (price type, scope of work, bidding formula)
  • Obtain the necessary information from contractors to estimate the project and follow up on it (email/phone)
  • Coordinate the paper and electronic documents (plans, estimates, addenda, bid documents) that he has received and that are also on the server
  • Inform the chief bid bond estimator when required
  • Take stock of the quantities of special products at the start of the project (Studrails, V-Rod, Post-Tension, stainless steel, and others) and submit everything to the chief estimator so that he can request quotes in advance
  • Validate all documents submitted
  • Attach a copy of the bid form, scope of work, breakdown where required
  • Compare the plans for submission with the plans for construction
  • Perform all other related duties

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in a similar position
  • Possess strong skills in reading plans and specifications
  • Functional English (English-speaking clientele)
  • AEC in construction estimation and/or DEP in building design and/or civil engineering technology and/or any other relevant training
