Job Description

Cleveland Construction is seeking an Estimating Engineer to support to the Estimating Department in Mentor, OH.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform thorough document reviews, including geotechnical reports, phase I & II reports, hazardous material, schematics, design development & construction drawings, specifications, etc.
  • Develop project specific estimates, general conditions, etc.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs
  • Develop project specific scopes of work to be distributed to bidding subcontractors
  • Develop project specific qualifications to be submitted to the Owner with RFP responses or Bids

Requirements

  • A four (4) year degree in Construction Management, Civil, Business or Finance
  • College coursework or internship with estimating focus
  • Ability to work cross functionally with departments and team members
  • Efficiently work while also capturing main scope of work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to assess risk on a variety of project scopes and geographic locations
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • On-Screen Takeoff software preferred
  • Aptitude in learning new computer systems
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the role, company and industry
