Job Description:

This savvy subcontractor sits in the Commercial and Residential building space and specializes in providing its Tier 1, 2 and 3 builders, scaffolding solutions; for small, medium and large density, commercial and residential projects. Working to time frames and busy schedules they run a happy and harmonious work environment, which in turn creates repeat business and profitable growth. They are very much a well respected subcontractor renowned for their solid and positive approach to their business operations. Job Responsibility:

  • Work well autonomously and within a team, communicating effectively with the team and the General Manager daily
  • Orchestrating the procurement of quotes from multiple trades, and compiling costs into detailed cost plans
  • Occasionally rescoping of projects occurs, which will require obtaining / negotiating the best price, to maximise profit for the business
  • Meet with stakeholders and site teams regularly

Requirements:

  • 2/3 years working experience, estimating for a recognised scaffolder in Australia
  • Good knowledge of local contractors and suppliers
  • Ability to price Steel and Layher scaffolding systems
  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying or any other relevant qualifications
  • Track record with winning projects valued over $500k
  • Well presented & excellent communicator / negotiator
  • Latest knowledge of Building Codes
  • Analytical with the ability to problem solve and foresee buildability issues
  • Thorough understanding of construction methods and standards for tender submission
  • Ability to communicate and handover tender strategy to relevant parties
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience pricing projects, creating accurate bills of quantities based on detailed project design documentation
  • Experience in estimating on commercial or residential scaffolding projects
  • Ability to read design drawings with the ability to solve problems and issues
  • Communication and attitude are key
  • Ability to interpret designs and architectural documentation ensuring the project scope is coordinated and communicated effectively to stakeholders
  • Attitude and Energy are very much a key component
