We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team in Hampton Roads, VA. In this role, you will play a vital part in preparing competitive bids for federal, public, and commercial construction projects. You will collaborate with preconstruction and operations teams, ensuring accurate cost assessments and effective coordination throughout the bidding process.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analyses to prepare accurate project estimates
Coordinate with subcontractors to gather pricing and assess scope alignment
Collaborate with preconstruction and operations teams to ensure all project requirements are met
Participate in site visits and pre-bid meetings to gather critical project information
Develop complete cost proposals from solicitation through submission
Evaluate subcontractor pricing and ensure compliance with project specifications
Utilize estimating software and Excel to create thorough and organized cost assessments
Ensure all estimates align with federal construction standards and regulations
Communicate effectively with subcontractors and project stakeholders throughout the bidding process
Obtain necessary access for secured installations and adhere to site-specific requirements
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating with a General Contractor
Extensive knowledge of federal construction projects and standards
Proficiency in performing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost evaluations
Skilled in using estimating software and Microsoft Excel for cost analysis
Strong ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors and project teams
Demonstrated experience in preparing bids for commercial and public construction projects
Capable of obtaining base access for secured installations
Familiarity with construction drawings, engineering principles, and industry practices
