A highly successful construction management firm has expanded in to the West Palm Beach, Florida, area and is seeking a seasoned Estimator to join their team. Responsible for preparing and coordinating estimates across multiple projects, markets, and contract types, the Estimator should have a solid understanding of construction costs and building systems, and be capable of managing multiple trades within an estimate. This role involves close collaboration with clients and internal teams, reporting directly to the Preconstruction Manager. This is a fully onsite role, 5X a week in West Palm Beach.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain organized and properly named digital project files
Perform accurate quantity take-offs using tools like Bluebeam or Onscreen
Review and level subcontractor proposals for assigned trades
Input financial data and project metrics into historical tracking sheets
Analyze historical data (e.g., subcontracts, POs, productivity reports) to inform unit costs
Review drawings and specifications, attend pre-bid/design meetings, and assess scope, deliverables, risks, and execution plans
Prepare conceptual through final construction document estimates, including variance and tracking reports
Support purchasing, leveling, and subcontract award processes
Help draft and finalize subcontracts and purchase orders for approval
Assist in maintaining purchasing schedules for timely contract execution
Ensure safety considerations are factored into preconstruction and estimating
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of technical/field experience required
Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating, cost control, or construction engineering
Strong knowledge of industry best practices and estimating procedures
