Airswift has been tasked by one of its major chemical manufacturing clients to look for an Estimator to work on a 1-year contract with a possible 5-year extension in Deer Park, TX. The Cost Estimator with expertise in estimating construction projects ranging from $20 million to $50 million within chemical facilities. The ideal candidate will excel in cost estimation methodologies, project cost analysis, and preferably have experience with Aspen Icarus software. The Estimator is responsible for analyzing project requirements, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for on assigned projects executed in the Corporate Engineering department. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimates
Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses
Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and present estimates to management and clients
Monitor and update estimates as project details change, ensuring accuracy and relevance
Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender documents
Maintain a database of historical cost data to support future estimates
Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements
Review estimates provided by third-party engineering firms for accuracy and completeness
Participate in project meetings and provide input on cost-related matters
Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects in chemical facilities
Analyze project documentation and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate estimates
Utilize Aspen Cost Estimator and other tools to enhance estimation accuracy
Conduct cost analysis to identify savings opportunities and maintain budget adherence
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for project stakeholders
Requirements:
At least 12 years of project management or project controls and related experience in the petrochemical industry
Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction or engineering industry
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques
Proficiency in estimation software and tool
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
