We are seeking a dedicated Estimator III with at least 7 to 10 years of directly applicable estimating experience in a marine or offshore environment. The candidate will analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare material and labor estimates for products, projects or services.
Job Responsibility:
Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists
Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, scheduling vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness
Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions
Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
Prepares accurate estimates and reports and maintains a source of data file
Gathers cost and technical quotations from vendors, suppliers and manufacturers
Ensures supplier’s scope of supply coincides with contract or project requirements
Maintains job estimate history files
Updates history files as required for use in preparing future project estimates
Prepares letters, memos, faxes and/or e-mails to suppliers to seek requests for information
Works overtime as required to complete estimates in a timely fashion
Prepares material and labor cost estimates from information provided or historical experience
Contacts and gathers technical and cost information from vendors, suppliers, manufacturers and other sources
Requirements:
Minimum of 7 to 10 years of directly applicable estimating experience in a marine or offshore environment
Bachelor of Science Degree preferred
Accurately able to read and interpret provided drawings, specifications or other proposal or technical documents
Contacts and gathers technical and cost information from vendors, suppliers, manufacturers and other sources
Computer literate, with good spreadsheet and word processing skills
Can work under schedule pressure and meet deadlines
