Job Description:

Our client specializes in providing top-tier construction and fabrication solutions. Their work is driven by innovation, accuracy, and collaboration. We are looking for an experienced Metals Fabrication Estimator who can analyze, plan, and execute detailed cost assessments and shop drawings, ensuring project success from start to finish.

Job Responsibility:

Analyze and review tender documents, architectural, mechanical, and structural drawings, and specifications
Support the Sales Team by reviewing and verifying specifications and identifying discrepancies
Prepare RFIs and requests for equal submissions to architects, consultants, and contractors
Conduct accurate quantity surveys of products using Excel spreadsheets and electronic or physical drawings
Develop and maintain cost estimates for materials and labor using pre-established and newly created spreadsheets
Update and improve material, labor, and service cost databases by liaising with suppliers and the manufacturing department
Track and schedule projects being tendered or quoted
Prepare quotations, budget proposals, and bid/tender forms for submission by the Sales Team
Provide technical support to the Sales Department and assist in bidding strategies and negotiations
Coordinate with the production team for material procurement and project execution
Foster a team-oriented environment, collaborating with all departments for overall company success

Requirements:

Minimum Architectural Technologist Diploma, Mechanical Engineer Degree or equivalent
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction and working drawings, specifications, and tender documents
Experience with AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PDF applications
Familiarity with estimating and take-off software
Understanding of building envelope systems and fabrication processes for products made from various metals, particularly aluminum extrusions
Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal
Ability to produce precise shop drawings and fabrication layout documents
Ability to proactively identify project needs, clarifications, and cost-effective solutions
