Sheffield Children's Hospital is seeking to recruit an Estates Officer (Electrical Engineer). You will have a key role in our Estates Operational Team, delivering day-to-day planned and reactive engineering maintenance, as well as supporting minor and medium project works. As a valued member of the team, you'll help ensure a safe, compliant and efficient environment for our clinical and support services.
Job Responsibility:
Support the safe and effective running of engineering and estates operations
Contribute to planned and reactive maintenance across the hospital site
Assist with minor project works and operational improvements
Take responsibility for allocated tasks, working with minimal supervision once trained
Build experience across compliance, safety, risk management and estates procedures
Requirements:
Apprentice trained level 3 in Electrical engineering or Electrical building services engineering
Working towards or have successfully completed - HNC in Electrical Engineering or, Building Services, Engineering, (Completed or commenced)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, word, power point, e-mail , Co-pilot etc. essentials course
Extensive knowledge of Healthcare Electrical systems, minimum competent person experience in operation on both LV and HV systems
Ability to read and understand electrical specifications and technical drawings of complex systems
Understanding of emergency back up generator systems in healthcare
Extensive experience of working in a building services Operational environment in a full range of craft duties including maintenance, fault finding and installation
Extensive experience of an active role in emergency contingency planning and repairs
Delivery of planned and reactive engineering and building maintenance, compliance, and assurance
Ability to use proprietary database systems such as CAFM systems
Working with senior and junior colleagues and suppliers
Specialist experience of hospital property related health, safety and compliance issues, in several of the following areas Asbestos, CDM, Electrical, infection control and Legionella, Ventilation, Decontamination, Medical Gas
Evidence of excellent system working, organisational, prioritisation and communication skills
Able to work as part of a team, whilst being able to work independently. Making decisions appropriate to level of responsibility
Ability to use fine tools including testing and monitoring equipment
Articulate in presenting technical information and ideas
Ability to effectively manage complex tasks
Full UK driving licence
Nice to have:
CP and or AP competencies in any HTM compliance area, e.g., Electrical, Water, ventilation, Decontamination, Medical Gas
Building Management systems experience
Operating and 'signed off by AE' as a Competent / Authourised person
NHS and sensitivities of working in clinical areas
