Job Description

A growing and client-focused estate planning practice in the northwest metro is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Paralegal to support attorneys in delivering comprehensive estate planning and estate administration services. This role involves direct client interaction, document preparation, and support across the full lifecycle of estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters. The practice serves individuals and families across a wide range of asset levels, including high-net-worth clients and closely-held business owners, with an emphasis on thoughtful planning, tax efficiency, and seamless wealth transfer strategies.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft estate planning documents, including: Wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts
  • Powers of attorney and health care directives
  • Ancillary transfer and funding documents
  • Assist with probate and trust administration, including: Preparing court filings and pleadings
  • Coordinating asset valuation and distribution
  • Communicating with personal representatives, trustees, and beneficiaries
  • Support attorneys in complex estate planning matters, including: Business succession planning
  • Tax-oriented estate planning strategies
  • Administration of high-net-worth estates
  • Manage client files from intake through closing, ensuring accuracy and organization of all documentation
  • Coordinate with clients and professional advisors (accountants, financial planners, etc.) to gather information and facilitate planning implementation
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely filing of probate and court-related documents
  • Maintain strong client relationships through professional, responsive communication

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal supporting estate planning and/or probate practice
  • Strong working knowledge of: Minnesota probate procedures
  • Estate and trust administration processes
  • Estate planning document structures
  • Experience drafting estate planning instruments independently or with minimal supervision preferred
  • High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-service mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • experience with estate planning or practice management software is a plus

Nice to have

  • Experience drafting estate planning instruments independently or with minimal supervision preferred
