Job Description:

A long-standing Seattle law firm is looking to an Associate Attorney to their Estate Planning group. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in estate and trust matters, including the preparation of legal documents and tax-related filings. This role offers an opportunity to work in a highly regarded practice with a focus on delivering exceptional client service.

Job Responsibility:

  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
  • Assist clients in the administration of trusts and probate estates, ensuring compliance with relevant laws
  • Conduct tax research and provide support for the preparation and filing of federal and state estate tax returns
  • Advise clients on estate and gift tax planning, leveraging knowledge of relevant Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations
  • Collaborate with clients to address their estate and trust concerns, offering tailored legal solutions
  • Manage litigation tasks such as drafting motions, conducting discovery, and preparing briefs as needed
  • Maintain thorough and organized documentation to support legal proceedings and client interactions
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to provide accurate and timely advice
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and exceptional service

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic performance
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Washington or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • 3+ years of experience in estate planning and trust administration
  • Strong drafting skills for legal documents such as wills, trusts, and tax filings
