Highly skilled and experienced fully remote estate litigation paralegal with extensive experience in New York Surrogate's Court procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate law, probate, and administration, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.
Job Responsibility:
Drafting applications for probate and administration
Drafting petitions for judicial settlement of fiduciary accountings
Obtaining jurisdiction: serving process and submitting proofs of service
Ability to conduct intake of new clients and to communicate effectively with clients, the Court, clerks, and third parties
Calendaring court dates and deadlines
E-filing
Requirements:
8+ years of heavy Surrogate's Court experience
heavy Estate Litigation experience
Must have experience dealing with NY courts
Ability to work 40-hours a week during standard business hours
Be extremely attentive to detail
Have strong written and oral communication skills
Be patient, compassionate, confident, and courteous
Have excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
Be a self-starter
Be a team player
Have the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
Possess litigation support skills or the willingness to learn and move into a litigation support role
