The ESports head coach is responsible for administration of all phases of an intercollegiate ESports programming including but not limited to: recruiting quality student-athletes; organizing and training athletes for successful competition; monitoring and supporting the academic success of the student-athletes. This is a collegiate head coaching position and all of the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of the governing bodies of the NJCAAE, NJCAA Region XXI, and Holyoke Community College.
Job Responsibility:
Administration of all phases of an intercollegiate ESports programming
Recruiting quality student-athletes
Organizing and training athletes for successful competition
Monitoring and supporting the academic success of the student-athletes
Establish a recruiting strategy and procedures
Organize, prepare, and conduct team practice sessions
Direct, motivate, and advise student-athletes during competition
Establish student-athlete and team goals
Establish and enforce team and college policies
Represent the college in a positive manner
Meet with the Athletic Academic Advisor to monitor academic progress
Work with the Athletic Director to develop a competition schedule
Develop relationships with four-year coaches and implement a plan to assist students in transferring
Adhere to NJCAA eligibility and compliance regulations
Attend and participate in coaching staff meetings
Ensure student-athlete eligibility paperwork is completed
Communicate uniform and/or equipment needs
Requirements:
Associate’s degree or higher
Knowledge of the sport of ESports as a student-athlete and/or a coach
Knowledge of recruitment and student-athlete development
Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work nights and weekends
Valid driver’s license
