Job Description

Client is seeking a dedicated and engaging ESL Instructor to teach onsite, face-to-face English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at a Tyson facility in Sanford, NC. The ideal candidate will be passionate about adult education and committed to helping frontline team members improve their English language skills.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver approximately 9 instructional hours per week teaching ESL and/or English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses
  • Develop and prepare instructional materials and lesson plans
  • Create a positive and engaging learning environment for adult learners
  • Attend Upward Academy partner meetings, faculty meetings, and training sessions
  • Participate in recruitment events and program culmination activities
  • Track attendance and maintain required program documentation

Requirements

  • Experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or adult education programs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage and support diverse adult learners
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field
  • TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent certification
  • Experience teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP)
  • Experience working with multicultural populations

  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests
  • Utilize hotel computer systems and point‑of‑sale platforms to accurately enter and communicate guest in‑room dining orders, including all special requests, dietary restrictions, and allergy information, to the culinary team
  • Review completed kitchen orders against the original guest request to ensure accuracy, presentation, and quality prior to delivery
  • Coordinate timely and seamless delivery of in‑room dining orders by Room Service Servers to maintain optimal food quality and an elevated guest experience
