We are looking for a motivated and forward thinking Procurement & ESG Specialist to join our Procurement team. This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic procurement expertise with a strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) focus, helping to embed sustainable sourcing practices across our business. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping Admiral’s procurement policies, strengthening supply chain resilience, and ensuring our sourcing decisions align with our ESG commitments. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive meaningful environmental and social impact, while supporting cost efficiency and long-term sustainable growth.
Job Responsibility:
Develop, implement and continuously improve sustainable procurement policies aligned to Admiral’s ESG strategy
Embed ESG principles across the full procurement lifecycle, from supplier selection through to contract management and review
Build and manage strong supplier relationships, prioritising partners who align with Admiral’s ESG values
Work collaboratively with suppliers to reduce environmental impact and promote ethical and sustainable practices
Carry out supplier ESG assessments and audits, driving continuous improvement across the supply chain
Partner with Group Sustainability, Federated Procurement teams, Group Legal and entity-level procurement teams to align procurement activity to Admiral’s ESG roadmap
Act as the procurement representative in sustainability forums and working groups, sharing progress, insights and improvement opportunities
Promote understanding and engagement with sustainable procurement practices across the business
Identify and manage ESG-related procurement risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards and best practice
Stay up to date with ESG trends, regulatory developments and emerging industry standards
Support ESG reporting by tracking compliance and performance metrics that contribute to Admiral’s annual sustainability report
Use sustainable procurement approaches to balance cost efficiency with quality, service and environmental responsibility
Develop and monitor KPIs to measure procurement performance and ESG impact, using data to drive continuous improvement
Requirements:
Previous experience in procurement, with a focus on sustainable or ESG-driven procurement
Knowledge of ESG principles, best practices, and regulatory requirements within the procurement and supply chain space
Analytical mindset with experience in developing and monitoring KPIs, reporting on sustainability metrics, and applying data-driven insights to decision-making
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and advocate for sustainable practices
Ability to develop and implement procurement strategies that are both cost-effective and aligned with long-term ESG objectives
Nice to have:
Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Environmental Science or a related discipline
Professional qualifications or certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, LEED or CSR-related certifications
Demonstrated experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, and sustainable sourcing
Skilled in managing projects that involve cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders to achieve measurable results
