Job Description

Bentley Systems is seeking an ESG Impact Manager to lead its ESG practice and become a valued member of our Law and Corporate Advancement team. The ESG Impact Manager will play a key role in supporting the ongoing development of the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and program, including improving ESG tracking and reporting, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating annual GHG emissions reporting.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead ESG program by keeping abreast of programs, frameworks, methodologies and reporting standards
  • Manage GHG reporting and supporting and analyzing GHG programs to meet regulations, internal and external commitments and targets
  • Coordinate process to aggregate, analyze, and report on sustainability data to ESG frameworks (GRESB, S&P CSA, CDP, ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc.)
  • Support the creation and administration of new data collection processes and systems to integrate and implement across all aspects of the company to meet ESG data needs
  • Research and extract summary narratives for ESG trends impacting the company, users and other ESG stakeholders
  • Conduct detailed quality control on the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of ESG information
  • Drive continuous system and process improvement to streamline ESG data collection, management, and reporting requirements
  • Seek out new technology or data sources to improve workflows or procedures
  • Assist internal and external stakeholders with projects/initiatives/deliverables
  • Perform ESG reporting gap analysis to identify disclosure needs and opportunities
  • Manage annual impact report development and launch

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Sustainability Studies, a relevant study, or equivalent training and experience
  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience related to ESG or corporate sustainability, ideally with a global publicly traded company
  • Proven understanding of CR and environmental, social and governance standards and guidelines, including, but not limited to, United Nations SDGs, SASB, GRI, CDP and TCFD
  • Familiarity with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • ability to work with large datasets and use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
  • Ability to work across multiple teams to facilitate scalable solutions to monitor business performance and interpret key performance metrics into actionable recommendations
  • Strong ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, self-manage and prioritize workload
  • Detail-oriented, organized and adaptable with solid business and financial acumen
  • Good communicator with excellent all-around listening, writing, editorial and interpersonal skills

  • Own the long-term oversight for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) target setting
  • design and execute implementation pathways to achieve targets, which could include internal behavior or process changes, market-based instruments (e.g., SAFc, VPPA), high-quality carbon offsets, supplier-based sustainability initiatives
  • In partnership with the VP, Social & Environmental Impact, maintain and promote sound ESG governance practices, including the integration of climate risks into the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process and educating leadership and the Board on emerging ESG developments
  • Develop and propose strategies for internal engagement on climate and ESG initiatives to build employee pride
  • Track applicable environmental and ESG regulations, standards, and frameworks and support their implementation
  • Manage existing compliance programs and stand up new, robust processes where gaps exist by translating regulatory or framework requirements into practical execution steps
  • Coordinate with and serve as a subject-matter resource to Legal, Technical Accounting, and Risk teams to support compliance readiness and responses
  • Oversee the project management of voluntary reports (e.g., annual Impact Report), assessing emerging trends, shaping narrative recommendations, and framing strategic considerations and decision options for leadership review
