Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled ERISA Legal Assistant to join our team in Aurora, Illinois. This contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to legal efforts related to employee benefits and insurance claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal support and a familiarity with medical records and billing processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Organize legal documents and complaints to support the litigation process
  • Assist in drafting summary plan descriptions and other legal documents
  • Prepare complaints and legal paperwork for submission
  • Review and analyze medical records to provide relevant case insights
  • Collaborate with attorneys to ensure timely filing of court documents
  • Manage e-filing processes and handle civil litigation tasks efficiently
  • Maintain and update calendars for court filings and deadlines
  • Provide support in cases involving ERISA and employee benefits
  • Conduct thorough reviews of medical billing records to identify discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with legal procedures and standards throughout the appeals process

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal assistance or a related field
  • Knowledge of ERISA and employee benefits regulations
  • Proficiency in e-filing and managing court filings
  • Ability to analyze and interpret medical records and billing information
  • Familiarity with civil litigation processes and documentation
  • Strong organizational skills for handling multiple cases and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing legal documents
