The Equity Derivatives Client Support Lead is responsible for managing a team of technical support specialists who provide first-line support to equity derivatives traders and stakeholders. The role focuses on ensuring operational excellence, risk management, and production stability for equity derivatives systems, including Sophis and related platforms. The Lead will drive incident management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives, while fostering collaboration across global teams and supporting the strategic objectives of HSBC’s Markets & Securities Services business.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and mentor a team of support specialists, ensuring high-quality technical support for equity derivatives trading activities
  • Oversee intraday risk calculations, instrument setup, trade booking, integration, and troubleshooting
  • Manage the lifecycle of incidents and Flash reports, ensuring timely escalation, resolution, and communication
  • Coordinate follow-the-sun support, including seamless handover with global teams and other regions
  • Provide support for regulatory inquiries and audits
  • Maintain strong relationships with traders, IT, and business stakeholders, ensuring client expectations are met
  • Drive compliance with GCIO operational resiliency priorities and production mandates
  • Champion automation, AI integration, and SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) initiatives to improve platform stability and reduce manual toil
  • Support onboarding and knowledge transfer for strategic and non-Sophis applications

Requirements:

  • Strong technical background in equity derivatives support, risk management systems (e.g., Sophis), and production operations
  • Proven leadership and team management experience in a high-pressure trading environment
  • Excellent incident management, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience with automation, AI integration, and SRE practices is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and operational risk controls in financial services
  • Ability to work effectively across global teams and time zones
