We are seeking a dedicated and technically-minded Mining Trainer to join our clients team for a key equipment simulation training operation near Geraldton, Ontario. In this unique "embedded" role, you will act as a trusted partner within a major mining operation, bridging the gap between cutting-edge simulation technology and on-site operator performance. You will be responsible for de-risking the integration of new training systems and driving measurable improvements in safety, production, and maintenance outcomes. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives on seeing real-world results through high-fidelity simulation and continuous improvement initiatives. While based at the site near Geraldton, we are specifically looking for candidates in the Thunder Bay or Geraldton areas to support local employment with a 2 week on, 2 week off schedule.
Job Responsibility:
Training Delivery: Lead and execute simulator-based training programs for "green" and experienced operators, ensuring alignment with safety standards
Technical Support: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair simulator hardware and software to ensure maximum uptime and operational readiness
Data & Reporting: Gather and analyze performance data to identify training needs, providing detailed daily and end-of-shift reports to stakeholders
Continuous Improvement: Update workflows and training protocols to integrate new technologies seamlessly into existing mining operations
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in mining operations (e.g., Instructor, Trainer, Heavy Equipment Operator, or Engineering)
High technical aptitude with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with training technologies
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to manage professional relationships with site leadership
