The Asset & PPE Auditor will have responsibility for the timely completion of in-field safety audits, inspection, calibration and PAT testing activities for engineers in their region. They will be responsible to ensure that engineers are working in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. The Asset & PPE Auditor will provide support to the in-field teams, by carrying out basic repairs and issuing replacement equipment where appropriate, in order to facilitate the engineer to work in a compliant manner.
Job Responsibility:
Ownership of the audits required for their dedicated region, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure business and regulatory needs are met
Planning daily audit visits to in-field engineers, to ensure that inspections, calibrations and PAT testing are carried out prior to due dates
Ensuring all auditing and PAT testing activities are carried out in accordance with the relevant Health and Safety regulations
Ensuring all equipment and assets inspected in-field are fit for purpose and in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, or that documented actions are taken for any items out of compliance
Adhering to processes for auditing of safe working practices and equipment inspections
Ensuring the accurate recording and scheduling of auditing activities in the relevant IT database/system
Ensuring the accurate recording of any replacement equipment issued to engineers
Working to contribute to the Auditing team’s Key Performance Indicators for in-field inspection activities, for example percentage of audits completed according to required timeframe
Carrying out inspections on engineers’ vans, to enable the early identification and rectification of vehicle damage
Maintaining van stock of spare parts and consumables, to facilitate inspections and in-field replacement of non-compliant equipment
Attending training on new equipment or technology
Assist in the training and education of users to ensure accurate and appropriate use of tooling and equipment
Ensuring accreditations are up to date
Acting as back-up for other auditors during periods of absence or high workload
Requirements:
Telecommunications industry experience
Demonstrated experience working according to key health and safety and regulatory requirements for equipment inspection and calibration
Nice to have:
Auditing experience, in particular safety aspects of tooling/assets
Experience working with Telecommunications test equipment
Equipment PAT testing and calibration experience
Experience in mechanical and electrical equipment testing and maintenance
Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Excel and Outlook
Educated to A-level standard
Auditing qualifications, e.g. Ladder inspection, harness inspection
