We are seeking experienced Equipment Operators/Experienced Pipelayers and Laborers to join our growing site and pipe crews based in York, PA. Equipment Operator positions are looking for experienced operators for equipment such as dozer, mass X, haul trucks, track hoe and track loaders. These roles focus on site projects as well as underground utility projects, including water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer installations, in locations in Central PA. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in their respective roles and a strong understanding of site work and/ or underground utility installation, trenching regulations, and pipeline safety. Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.
Job Responsibility
Equipment Operator: Operates equipment in compliance with Kinsley's safety policies and procedures
Ensures company equipment is maintained and in good running condition by greasing and checking fluids
Demonstrates a working knowledge of all aspects of construction
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required
Pipelayer: Install new pipes for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains in prepared trenches
Ensure pipes are aligned properly and positioned on grade and on line
Assist with backfilling and operate compaction equipment as needed
Recognize and mitigate job site hazards
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support the crew
Laborer: Assist in backfilling and running compaction equipment
Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards
Use various hand and power tools
Assist with removal of fine grade stones along curb lines and sidewalks
Take and understand instructions from crew leaders
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required
Requirements
Knowledge of GPS systems is a plus but not required
Ability to follow and enforce all correct safety procedures
Applicants with knowledge of underground utility installation, excavation regulations, and pipeline safety is preferred but not required
Minimum of 3 years' experience is required for the equipment operator position
Ability to work in a crew-based and fast-paced environment
Punctuality and dependability are required
Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods and sometimes in unfavorable weather conditions
Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs and moving whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling of materials
Ability to work both independently and as a team player
Ability to work overtime
Ability to pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
