The Technical Associate (3rd Shift: 12 AM - 8 AM, Sunday-Thursday) will be responsible for setting up, operating, optimizing, troubleshooting, and maintaining production equipment. The role focuses on ensuring production standards are met/exceeded, maintaining product quality, minimizing downtime, and sustaining budgeted waste levels.
Job Responsibility:
Step in to repair machine breakdowns and troubleshoot issues
Diagnose and address speed of operation issues and waste issues
Maintain and optimize mechanical components, ensuring smooth equipment functionality
Set up, debug, and adjust equipment based on plant policies and department procedures
Maintain accurate equipment logs for downtime and maintenance tracking
Perform preventative maintenance to avoid unplanned downtime
Monitor in-process quality, ensuring compliance with quality standards
Support upstream and downstream operations, including component replenishment
Adhere to all safety, environmental, and Quality System Requirements (QSR)
Requirements:
Hands-on mechanical background is required
Experience in high-speed manufacturing is a plus
Preferred background in auto mechanics, HVAC, low-voltage electronics/sensors, or machinist work
Mechanical troubleshooting/experience
Knowledge of feeler gauges and other tools to measure tolerances, torque, and clearances
Familiarity with cams, cam-followers, rod-ends, bushings, chain drives, conveyors, gear-boxes, vacuum systems, pneumatic systems, ball valves, and basic troubleshooting of these components
Strong team-oriented mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hands-on repairs
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to function effectively in a team environment
Nice to have:
Experience working with car engines, boat engines, or similar mechanical systems
HVAC knowledge and troubleshooting of low-voltage electronics/sensors
Machinist experience with blueprint reading and tool usage
