We’re seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Equestrian Manager to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced equestrian professional to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of our equestrian centre, ensuring the highest standards of horse welfare, customer experience, and operational excellence. You’ll lead and motivate a small team, oversee riding activities and facilities, and act as an ambassador for equestrian excellence, delivering safe, enjoyable, and memorable experiences for all guests and members.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the daily operation of the equestrian centre, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient running
Oversee the care, welfare, and fitness of all horses and ponies, ensuring best practice at all times
Plan and deliver riding activities, lessons, hacking, and events to suit a range of abilities
Lead, train, and supervise equestrian staff, instructors, and yard assistants
Ensure all health, safety, safeguarding, and animal welfare standards are met and maintained
Carry out yard duties including stable management, turnout, feeding, tack care, and facility upkeep
Manage rotas, holiday cover, and staffing levels to meet operational needs
Liaise with guests, members, and other departments to deliver a high-quality customer experience
Maintain riding school standards, risk assessments, and relevant documentation
Support budgeting, stock control, and supplier liaison as required
Requirements:
Proven experience working within an equestrian environment in a supervisory or management role
Relevant equestrian qualifications (e.g. BHS Stage qualifications or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of horse care, stable management, and equestrian health & safety
Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop others
A professional, approachable manner with excellent communication skills
Flexibility to work weekends and variable hours in line with equestrian operations
Physically fit with the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
A genuine passion for horse welfare and outstanding guest experiences
