Job Description:

At Royal Holloway we believe that diversity, equity and inclusion are essential to a vibrant and thriving university community. As we bring our RH2030s strategy to life and pursue our vision of becoming a University of Social Purpose, our values – Open, Respectful, Daring and Innovative – guide everything we do. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Coordinator to join our team and help drive forward these ambitions, supporting a culture where colleagues and students feel respected, valued and that they belong. This is a one-year fixed-term position, offering an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic area of work, and make a real impact by supporting projects and initiatives that promote belonging and fairness across our community. The role holder will work closely with the EDI Manager and EDI Officer to support the effective delivery of equality, diversity and inclusion projects and initiatives. As EDI Coordinator, you will work across a range of equality strands - including gender, race, religion, disability and sexual orientation - playing a key role in coordinating projects, tracking progress against action plans, and supporting events and communications.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinate and support EDI meetings, projects and initiatives, including action plans for anti-racism, gender equality, LGBT+ equality and disability
  • Assist with the implementation of initiatives such as Listening Circles and new training programmes
  • Organise and promote EDI events and celebrations, including liaising with speakers, managing logistics and evaluating impact
  • Maintain and develop EDI webpages and intranet content, ensuring information is accurate and up to date
  • Produce and contribute to reports, including data for the annual EDI report
  • Process financial transactions for the EDI budget and support the servicing of EDI group meetings

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion and its practical application within the Higher Education sector, including awareness of challenges in advancing equity and inclusion
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience of supporting projects and events, working with data, and maintaining accurate records
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
What we offer:
  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • Training and Development opportunities
  • Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
  • Various schemes including Cycle to Work, Season Ticket Loans and help with the cost of Eyesight testing
  • Free parking
