Job Description:

Epic Security Coordinator, Information Security, Full Time Remote, Baptist Medical IT Data Center. The Epic Security Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining secure access to the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring users have appropriate permissions aligned with their roles and organizational policies. This role partners closely with clinical, operational, and IT teams to provision, modify, and audit user access while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and internal security standards. The coordinator supports onboarding and offboarding processes, monitors security requests through ticketing systems, and conducts regular access reviews to mitigate risk. Additionally, this position plays a key role in troubleshooting access issues, supporting audits, and contributing to ongoing optimization of security workflows and governance within the Epic environment. Tickets are 5 to 10 a day + spreadsheet work

Job Responsibility:

  • Managing and maintaining secure access to the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Ensuring users have appropriate permissions aligned with their roles and organizational policies
  • Partnering closely with clinical, operational, and IT teams to provision, modify, and audit user access
  • Maintaining compliance with HIPAA and internal security standards
  • Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Monitoring security requests through ticketing systems
  • Conducting regular access reviews to mitigate risk
  • Troubleshooting access issues
  • Supporting audits
  • Contributing to ongoing optimization of security workflows and governance within the Epic environment
  • Configure and troubleshoot SER records and Blueprints
  • Proactively assess and refine existing processes
  • Adhere to the procedures regarding users’ login authorization and proper training for system access
  • Use various methods including Chronicle searches, Microsoft Access queries, Microsoft Excel functions, Active Directory to complete analysis of user access needs in the Epic system
  • Work with application teams and customers to identify and prioritize their needs
  • Complete analysis for creating security templates for Epic user provisioning Epic
  • Provide on call support for security issues after hours on a rotational basis

Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel preferred
  • Epic Security certification preferred
  • Epic Data Courier badge preferred
  • Experience with Epic SER build and maintenance preferred
  • Experience with ticketing systems preferred
