Job Description:

This hybrid role (1–2 days per week onsite) is open to candidates who reside in VA, WV, MD, DC, PA, or DE. This position blends hands-on systems analyst responsibilities (up to 80% of the time) with team-level supervision and operational leadership. The Applications Team Lead will proactively develop team members, support team wellbeing, and ensure high-quality delivery while contributing to a strong, collaborative brand presence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide direct report management including recruitment, selection, performance reviews, and, when necessary, termination
  • Perform Systems Analyst Senior, II, or III responsibilities for up to 80% of the time
  • Collaborate with Information Systems customers and leadership to resolve competing demands, cross-group conflicts, and sensitive scenarios
  • Partner with the team to develop and assign tasks, manage project execution, communicate progress, and coordinate coverage
  • Proactively develop team talent through performance goals, development plans, and ongoing constructive feedback
  • Contribute to organizational knowledge through knowledge base development, policy input, and documented process creation
  • Estimate and balance resource demands against team capacity to ensure effective project delivery
  • Diagnose and de-escalate team conflicts while maintaining a productive, collaborative environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in information systems, including client-server applications, programming, applications analysis, or equivalent business analysis experience
  • At least 2 years of project management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of application systems and analyst tools
  • One industry-recognized or vendor certification in an application supported by the team (Grand Central, HB, or PB certification required
  • only one required)
  • Demonstrated ability to estimate project effort and manage team capacity effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and navigate sensitive situations
  • Technical knowledge related to the team’s area of responsibility
  • Physical ability to perform light work as defined by exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
