Job Description:

The Epic Lead Expert will play a critical role in maintaining, optimizing, and supporting our Applied System's Epic instance to enhance operational efficiency and our users' experience. This individual will be responsible for leading system configurations, ensuring data integrity, training staff, and troubleshooting technical issues. The role will also involve partnering with various teams to implement workflows, handle user permissions, and facilitate system integrations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with deep knowledge of Applied Epic and has a passion for streamlining insurance agency operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • System Administration: Configure and maintain the Applied Epic system, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. Regularly review system settings to align with evolving business needs.
  • Workflow Customization: Collaborate with business units to customize workflows, reports, templates, and dashboards to improve operational efficiency and user experience.
  • User Access Management: Build and handle user accounts, roles, and permissions, maintaining strict role-based access control (RBAC) policies.
  • Training and Support: Deliver training to staff on system functionality and procedures. Fix and resolve technical issues, coordinating with Applied Systems support for sophisticated cases.
  • Data Integrity and Security: Ensure the integrity of all data inputs, conduct regular audits, and perform database clean-ups to prevent data discrepancies.
  • System Updates and Testing: Collaborate with IT and business teams to test system updates or new features, ensuring compatibility and functionality before release.
  • Integration Management: Work with multi-functional teams to integrate new systems and tools with Applied Epic, ensuring flawless workflows across departments.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive internal documentation regarding system configurations, workflows, and processes to support future development and user education.
  • System Optimization: Find opportunities for system improvements and enhancements, including automating routine tasks and optimizing system performance.
  • Disaster Recovery: Lead disaster recovery planning efforts and ensure business continuity through backup systems and protocols.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as an Applied Epic Administrator or similar role within an insurance agency environment
  • Extensive knowledge of Applied Epic, including system configurations, workflows, and data management
  • Solid understanding of IT security principles, including identity and access management (IAM) and RBAC
  • Experience with agency management system migrations, conversions, and data mapping
  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good communication and training abilities to educate staff and drive adoption of new workflows
  • Hands-on experience with disaster recovery planning, system integrations, and data audits
  • Proficient in support both on-premise and cloud-based solutions
  • Familiarity with related systems such as AMS360, Indio, and other insurance-specific software
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
