Job Description:

The Epic Infrastructure Automation Engineer will focus on automating the infrastructure for the Epic EHR system, ensuring it is robust and scalable.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scripts and tools to automate the provisioning and configuration of servers and infrastructure that support the Epic ecosystem
  • Build and manage virtual machines using platforms like VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, or cloud-based virtualization technologies
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure and application-level monitoring tools to monitor Epic system performance, VM health, and infrastructure uptime
  • Ensure all Epic infrastructure components are redundant, resilient, and compliant with HA/DR requirements
  • Work closely with Epic TS (Technical Services), clinical app teams, networking, security, and storage teams to implement infrastructure that aligns with Epic's specifications
  • Coordinating updates, certifications, patching, and ensuring system compatibility

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in relevant technologies
  • Experience with Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform
  • Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, or cloud-based virtualization technologies (e.g., Azure/AWS)
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Nagios, vRealize Operations)
  • Scripting and IaC (Infrastructure as Code) practices using Python, Bash, or JSON/YAML-based tools
  • Knowledge of security hardening and compliance auditing (especially for HIPAA)
  • Experience with cloud integration
