Job Description

Greenskies is seeking an EPC Estimation Manager to support its growing renewable energy project pipeline. The role oversees all facets of EPC estimating and contractor relations. This position manages a team of estimators as well as staff dedicated to building and maintaining relationships with installation companies. The Manager’s department owns the contractor bid process. A successful candidate has excellent team leadership skills, understands new asset construction processes, and is capable of building positive relationships with new and existing contracting partners. The EPC Estimation Manager reports directly to the VP of EPC.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee processes and set strategies to find, qualify, and onboard electrical, civil, structural, and roofing contractors throughout the United States. Establish strong relationships. Advise team on contractor onboarding and relationship building
  • Inform Construction team leadership of available contractors by region and project type
  • Support the upkeep of existing contractor relationships. Resolve disputes if they arise
  • Report on contractor KPIs. Construct metrics and analyze data to assess contractor quality levels. Receive Construction and O&M feedback to quantify and qualify contractor capabilities
  • Establish a quality control process for new EPC estimates
  • Drive feedback loop between Construction, Contractor Relations, and Estimating. Use historical cost data to redirect estimating methodologies
  • Ensure team is awarding projects based on a balance of low cost, award diversification, and contractor capabilities. Build and maintain scope of work template library
  • Safeguard against delays in achieving estimating and bidding deadlines
  • Work closely with the Procurement team to ensure estimates utilize the latest material cost data and projections
  • Frequently report performance against KPIs to leadership team

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, contract management, construction management, services procurement, preconstruction leadership or similar
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in engineering, construction administration, or equivalent is preferred
  • Previous experience related to the construction of, or services procurement for, electrical or power generation assets is preferred
  • Proficient at reading plans and specs
