Job Description

We’re recruiting an Environmental Site Engineer to support construction quality assurance (CQA) and engineering works across major non‑hazardous and inert waste projects in the North West. Working across multiple sites, you’ll be involved in the delivery and monitoring of earthworks, landfill cell construction, lining systems, and leachate/gas management infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being out on site, solving problems, and ensuring projects are delivered to high technical and environmental standards. If you’ve got experience in civil, geotechnical, or environmental engineering — and you want a role that mixes fieldwork, quality oversight, and technical reporting — this could be a perfect next step.

Job Responsibility

  • Monitor and supervise construction works to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
  • Oversee field and laboratory testing (e.g., compaction, permeability)
  • Check materials, workmanship, and escalate issues where needed
  • Produce daily site records and contribute to CQA plans and validation reports
  • Communicate with contractors, designers, regulators and stakeholders
  • Support the delivery of safe, compliant, and high‑quality engineering projects across the region

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering (or similar)
  • Experience in earthworks, geosynthetics, landfill engineering, or site QA/QC
  • Good understanding of geotechnical principles and construction quality
  • Strong reporting, communication, and documentation skills
  • Willingness to travel and work across multiple sites
