Job Description:

Job Responsibility:

  • Cleans patient rooms and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens and sanitizing all surfaces
  • Follows policies and procedures on patient isolation
  • Stocks paper items and other supplies in patient rooms as necessary or designated
  • Maintains cart and equipment in clean, working condition and stores in appropriate storage area when finished with shift
  • Applies critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and works with minimal supervision
  • Operates effectively in a fast-paced environment and takes appropriate action
  • Ensures compliance with hospital sanitation and safety standards

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work full time on day shift
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital cleaning environment preferred
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks
  • Ability to follow safety and infection control policies
  • Must be able to work onsite
  • Availability to work 80 hours per pay period
  • Ability to adhere to hospital standards and procedures

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience in environmental services or housekeeping is an advantage
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and hospital protocols
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks
  • Effective communication skills

  • Use disinfectants and cleaning solutions in line with policies and procedures, ensuring attention to detail
  • Notify the supervisor of any signs of pests and ensure all areas are left neat and orderly after cleaning
  • Sweep, mop, wax vinyl tile floors, vacuum, and shampoo carpets, and scrub grout areas as required
  • Report any floor issues that need more than routine cleaning, such as worn areas, for scheduling of deeper maintenance
  • Complete floor care tasks assigned
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily tasks, laundry weights, linen inventory, project requests, and equipment or facility issues
