Job Description:

This position promotes environmental protection by maintaining healthy and safe medical facilities for employees and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning functions, waste removal, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and training attendance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas (dusting, sanitizing, washing windows/walls, sweeping/scrubbing floors, vacuuming/shampooing carpet, re-stocking restrooms, replacing light bulbs, reporting repairs)
  • Removes waste (collecting/transporting soiled linen, emptying trash, changing sharps containers, transporting waste to compactors, recycling, emptying cigarette receptacles)
  • Keeps equipment clean and orderly and reports issues
  • Maintains safe working environment and provides quality service by complying with procedures/rules/regulations
  • Attends all required in-service education and training
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines

Requirements:

  • Preferred: High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Preferred: One year experience
  • Can prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner
  • Can operate equipment
  • Can establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers

  • Use disinfectants and cleaning solutions in line with policies and procedures, ensuring attention to detail
  • Notify the supervisor of any signs of pests and ensure all areas are left neat and orderly after cleaning
  • Sweep, mop, wax vinyl tile floors, vacuum, and shampoo carpets, and scrub grout areas as required
  • Report any floor issues that need more than routine cleaning, such as worn areas, for scheduling of deeper maintenance
  • Complete floor care tasks assigned
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily tasks, laundry weights, linen inventory, project requests, and equipment or facility issues
