Job Description:

Environmental Services Technician II position at Advocate Christ Hospital & Medical Center. Responsibilities include floor and carpet care, waste disposal, equipment operation, customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe hospital environment. The role involves rotating weekends and specific holiday schedules.

Job Responsibility:

  • Scrub, strips, polishes and refinishes floors using appropriate equipment and/or supplies
  • Operates various types of cleaning equipment, both mechanical and electrical
  • Clean or sanitize after emergency spill as requested
  • Analyzes floor or carpet conditions and determines proper cleaning techniques
  • Maintains hard surface floors and carpets
  • Exhibits timely and satisfactory completion of all job assignments
  • Exercises initiative by seeking additional tasks
  • Uses and maintains equipment, keeping clean and in good repair
  • Keeps work area in orderly, clean and safe condition
  • Removal and disposal of rubbish from selected areas
  • Separates regular and recycle trash according to procedure
  • Operates waste compactors safety and efficiently
  • Clean and/or sanitizes all garbage/waste disposal containers
  • Collects hazardous and medical waste according to hospital processes
  • Replaces and transports sharps containers to waste staging area
  • Collects soiled linen
  • Utilized AIDET with both Internal Customer and External Customers
  • Demonstrates ability to identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively
  • Demonstrates a positive, supportive attitude to patient families and other personnel
  • Arranges furniture for meeting, workshops and community affairs
  • Relocate furniture, equipment, etc., as requested
  • Completes terminal cleans as needed
  • Completes discharge room clean following hospital process
  • Completes OR cleaning following hospital processes
  • Attends all mandatory departmental and hospital meetings and in-services
  • Completes annual CBT's required
  • Follows written department goals and objectives
  • Seeks education and learning experiences
  • Maintains proper attendance requirement
  • Plans for special days off in advance and submits written requests
  • Requests PTO time in accordance with departmental policy
  • Provide adequate notice to department management absences

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years experience with prior housekeeping experience preferred
