Job Description

Under direct supervision maintain assigned areas with the medical center in sanitary, safe, attractive, and orderly condition.

Job Responsibility

  • Clean assigned areas on the campus (Patient/Non-patient
  • Offices
  • Elevators
  • Grounds/Parking garage/Lobbies/Conference rooms) following the standards of the location
  • Wash furnishings/curtains/walls
  • Vacuum upholstery
  • Remove trash, cardboard, biohazard supplies and replenish the collection devices
  • Clean equipment with disinfectant cleaning solutions
  • Notify leads when evidence of pests have been sited
  • Sweep, mop, wax vinyl tile floors
  • Vacuum and shampoo carpets
  • Scrub grouts
  • Document daily assignments, weight of soiled laundry, inventory of linen, projects, equipment/facility issues, discharge patient room data
  • Keep up to date on department updates
  • Report concerns related to equipment, furniture, and work areas
  • Complete all tasks listed for EVS Assistant
  • Operate wheelchair washer
  • Monitor supplies and use chemicals appropriately
  • Assist in storage of supplies
  • Collect soiled linen
  • Prepare linen for laundering
  • Wash and dry linen
  • Deliver cleaned laundry
  • Maintain laundry area
  • Document soiled laundry weight
  • Observe and follow all infection policies
  • Clean and sanitize after blood and body fluids spills
  • Use proper personal protective equipment
  • Follow hand hygiene policy
  • Be flexible in assignments and shift

Requirements

  • Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare institution, school, or hospitality environment preferred
  • On the job training provided
  • Experience with any equipment used to clean from floor equipment to sweepers to commercial washers/dryers
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal
  • Knowledge Of Basic Computer Programs
  • Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members
  • Able To Withstand Crisis Situations
  • Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors
  • Knowledge Of Basic Evs Equipment
