High School diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum two years' in-house experience
120 hours of hard surface experience
60 hours carpet care experience
No current CAFs
Completion of the competency for the Emergency Department
Certifications in EVS Customer Service Care, operating room cleaning, and in all floor care
Ability to operate all cleaning equipment
Implements proper use of chemicals to reduce bloodborne protocol
Proficient in chemical usage

Job Responsibility

Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas including dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures
washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures
sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors
vacuuming and shampooing carpet
re-stocking restrooms
replacing light bulbs
reporting repairs
Removes waste by collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash containers, changing sharps containers, transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors, recycling material, and emptying cigarette receptacles
Keeps equipment associated with the job, clean and orderly, and reports equipment failures or other mechanical issues
Assures daily patient areas, clinics, offices and labs are cleaned with proper use of chemicals for cleaning and disinfecting
