Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist to support compliance, safety initiatives, hazardous materials management, and environmental reporting for a dynamic engineering and operations environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of OSHA and ANSI standards, and the ability to perform hands‑on EH&S tasks while collaborating across multiple teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Support day‑to‑day EH&S compliance activities, including hazard communication, inspections, and documentation
  • Conduct or support hazardous waste handling, labeling, storage, inspections, and coordination with approved waste vendors
  • Assist with environmental reporting and regulatory submissions
  • Apply safety and industrial hygiene principles across operations, labs, and office workspaces
  • Support routine safety audits, job hazard analyses, and corrective‑action tracking
  • Help maintain EH&S logs, records, and compliance documentation
  • Provide safety‑related input to teams across operations, facilities, and engineering
  • Support multiple ongoing projects and deadlines, sometimes under time‑sensitive or dynamic conditions
  • Communicate clearly with employees, supervisors, and stakeholders on safety requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts tied to safety, waste reduction, and sustainability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of professional experience in an EH&S role
  • Experience with: Hazardous waste management
  • Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) requirements
  • Hazardous waste labeling, documentation, and regulatory inspections
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and general safety practices
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance reporting processes
  • Practical understanding of industrial hygiene concepts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment

  • Experience delivering EH&S training to employees or contractors
  • Familiarity with EH&S databases, tracking systems, or reporting software

  • Keep abreast of any safety, environmental or dangerous goods transportation regulations that impact the facility.
  • Manage incident reporting, worker compensation, OSHA Occupational Illness and Injury, and CDC exposure reporting programs to minimize worker injury or disease and lower worker’s compensation costs.
  • Participate in the investigation of incidents, near misses and property damage incidents. Assist with incident investigations to identify root causes, make recommendations, and implement corrective/preventative actions. Ensure follow up is done to minimize future exposure and proper documents are maintained.
