We are seeking a dedicated Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in the automotive manufacturing sector. This role is essential for driving our commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship at our facility. As the Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist, you will lead the evolution and maintenance of our ISO 14001 and Health and Safety Management Systems. This position is vital for reducing workplace incidents and ensuring our operations remain fully compliant with all provincial and federal safety legislation.
Job Responsibility:
Drafting and auditing annual safety policies to align with OHSA, WSIB, and ISO 14001 standards
Head the Health & Safety Committee and provide expert guidance to management and team members regarding safety interpretations
Overseeing all accident investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing robust preventative measures
Maintaining a daily presence on the shop floor to conduct safety orientations, awareness meetings, and ergonomic assessments
Managing occupational hygiene testing, hazardous material protocols, and ISO 14001 documentation
Collaborating with HR to manage modified work programs, light duties, and physical demands analysis for recovering team members
Requirements:
2 to 3 years of direct experience in Health and Safety
Post-Secondary Diploma, Degree, or Certificate in Health & Safety
CRST or CRSP designation is required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to be on-site 5 days a week in Woodstock and be "on-call" for emergencies as needed
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods on the shop floor
Ability to climb ladders, bend, twist, and occasionally lift between 5–20 kg

JHSC Certification Training or ISO Auditor certification
