The EHS Engineer is responsible for driving Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) implementation across multiple brands/operating sites within the organization. Responsibilities include ensuring that Alfa Laval policies and best practices are implemented, and full compliance with local laws and regulations is achieved to secure a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment for all employees. Develop, maintain, and support the EHS Culture within the organization, with an ambition of a safe and compliant workplace, employee engagement, and stable processes. Liaison with local, regional, and global EHS resources to ensure all relevant information is received, distributed, reported, and necessary actions are taken to implement within the organization for subsidiaries.
Job Responsibility:
Develop, implement, and document EHS guidelines and instructions for subsidiary organizations connected with Alfa Laval business needs
Collaborate and participate in the investigation of incidents. Analyze root causes to provide appropriate control measures to prevent reoccurrence or mitigate hazards
Ensure all near-miss, injuries, and related EHS incidents are investigated and reported
Lead and participate in risk assessments and audits of facilities, including follow-up and implementation of needed actions
Support Workers Compensation claim management
Ensure each subsidiary organization reports all EHS data in the relevant Alfa Laval systems, including verification of data submitted
Ensure subsidiary organization’s activities comply with Alfa Laval Group policies, local laws, and regulations
Identify improvement ideas to enhance the health, safety, and environmental impact of operations
Support employee training in relation to Alfa Laval requirements and related EHS topics
Support the continuous improvement of the subsidiary organizations EHS programs and regulatory plans. Review as needed with all relevant personnel
Support the subsidiary organization’s hazardous waste program to include onsite regulatory compliance and disposal activities
Collaborate with Alfa Laval Sustainability managers to maintain continuous improvement and meet Alfa Laval corporate and regional targets
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or University required, Science or Engineering degree preferred
5+ years’ experience in a Health, Safety and Environmental role
ASP or CSP preferred
Process Safety Management experience preferred
Experience training in safety related topics
OSHA certifications are preferred
Hazardous Waste Management experience
Safety program management
Sustainability management experience preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong planning and project management skills
Ability to work alone and with a team without strict oversight
