Domtar is seeking an Environmental Engineer (air focus) at their Pulp & Paper Mill in Nekoosa, Wisconsin. Reporting to the Environmental Manager, the Environmental Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with various environmental regulations and permits within the mill.
Job Responsibility:
Take part in or lead compliance inspections with State and Corporate
Manage environmental contractors and consultants in your areas of responsibility
Maintain routine regulatory records for permits and environmental programs
Manage mill’s recycling programs, hazardous waste program, and waste shipments and reporting
Prepare regulatory reports, ensure inspections and repair are made in compliance with regulatory schedule
Report monthly data for Corporate as needed, including but not limited to quarterly and annual reporting, and sustainability reporting
Serves as a backup to the Environmental Engineer in regard to daily Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations, DMR reporting and storm water inspections
Be supportive of other environmental disciplines and mill programs (NPDES, FERC, and landfill)
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Chemical Engineering, or a related field
3-5 years of environmental engineering experience in industrial environment
Experience in Title V permitting activities preferred
Knowledge of water programs, including WPDES (NPDES) permits preferred
Knowledge of air, water, solid waste, and hazardous waste programs
Familiarity with environmental regulations
Experience in pulp & paper industry preferred
State Wastewater Operator Certification and/or Solid Waste Disposal Facility Manager Certification a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Nice to have:
Experience in Title V permitting activities preferred
Knowledge of water programs, including WPDES (NPDES) permits preferred
Experience in pulp & paper industry preferred
State Wastewater Operator Certification and/or Solid Waste Disposal Facility Manager Certification a plus
