Job Description:

Full-time Design Staff role in Atelier Ten New York. Work within a project team on a variety of project types from offices, labs to large masterplans to champion for a healthier planet and create high performance, sustainable, and award-winning buildings.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analyze design options and make recommendations on daylighting, energy systems, water use, thermal comfort, occupant health, sustainable materials, and more
  • Work on LEED program administration, including analyzing feasibility of specific credits and managing the overall documentation process
  • Author project deliverables, including reports, memos, and technical documentation
  • Create clear and visually engaging graphic illustrations that communicate technical concepts
  • Collaborate with technical analysis teams to integrate sustainability strategies into project designs
  • Contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects within the built environment
  • Work closely with integrated design groups to support services such as environmental design consulting, daylight and façade analysis, and benchmarking

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in a field related to environmental building design, architecture, architectural engineering, and/ or building science
  • 0-4 years of professional experience
  • Adeptness in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign), and Rhino
  • Strong ability in computer and hand drafting as well as sketching
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, and excellent verbal, inter-personal and writing skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience with software such as “R,” Grasshopper, Radiance, Revit, eQuest, EnergyPlus, IES, D3, or data visualization
  • Experience with LEED Green Associate, AP or sustainable design
