Job Description:

Carries out general housekeeping activities essential to keeping University Health facilities clean and orderly. All work will be done in accordance with Joint Commission and Texas Department of Health guidelines.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carries out general housekeeping activities essential to keeping University Health facilities clean and orderly
  • Promptly and efficiently performs assigned duties and accepts emergency reassignments
  • Reports all maintenance defects to Plant Engineering Department
  • Uses equipment and supplies as directed and follows all the instructions listed on Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Identify and report all chemical/solution spills and discarded needles/syringes
  • Assist the Team Leader in clean up and disposals as required
  • Complies with University Health and departmental policies and regulations
  • Maintains good interpersonal and guest relation skills

Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English is required
  • Completion of work-related on-the-job vocational training is preferred
  • Six months institutional housekeeping experience is preferred
  • Ability to fill liquid soap, toilet paper towel dispenser and other dispensers required
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment required
