MinRes is seeking a site Environmental Advisor to ensure compliance and support the continuity of our Onslow Port and Haul Road Operations. We are looking for proactive individual who is committed to environmental excellence and making a tangible impact. You will play an integral role collaborating with our various site teams to drive environmental awareness and ensure delivery of environmental compliance activities. Our Site Environmental Advisors work on a regular 8/6 roster FIFO from Perth alongside a dedicated team that fosters a collaborative environment, promoting professional growth.
Job Responsibility:
Provide professional, timely environmental advice to site personnel and management across all operational disciplines
Interpret environmental legislation, government standards, and agreements — including marine and coastal regulations where applicable — to inform compliance, identify improvements, and manage risk
Promote environmental awareness and deliver site-specific training to embed good environmental practices across all aspects of work
Ensure environmental monitoring is undertaken in accordance with approval conditions, data is accurately stored, and results are reviewed against applicable triggers and limits
Manage MinRes' Land Activity Permitting process, including permit review, on-ground compliance verification, and timely close-out
Support environmental auditing, inspection, and reporting processes, and coordinate annual biological surveys including marine ecological surveys where required
Assist environmental incident reporting and investigation (including ICAMs), ensuring timely escalation of non-compliances and completion of corrective actions
Coordinate and manage environmental consultants and contractors in accordance with MinRes procedures and relevant standards
Support the rollout and embedding of MinRes' Environmental Management System and associated systems across site teams
Ensure remote travel and field work is adequately planned with appropriate Emergency and Safety Plans in place and actively participate in site pre-starts and management meetings
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree within Environmental Science or similar discipline
Strong Environmental management operational experience, within consulting or mining and resources industry
Knowledge of WA environmental legislation, guidelines and standards
Understanding of project/operational environmental risks
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams at all levels
Problem solver and mentor. Fast thinker that is systematic, engaging, and thrives on change
Sound experience with GIS software
Current C Class manual driver’s licence
First Aid certificate
Nice to have:
Hands-on site Fauna handling experience is desirable
