This is a hands-on, influential role where you’ll work closely with operational leaders and the EHS Manager to implement, coordinate and continuously improve local and corporate EHS programs. You will drive EHS performance and a strong safety culture while establishing and maintaining effective systems to manage EHS activities across Pharmacy and Supply Chain Operations, ensuring Baxter Operations are committed to continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Job Responsibility:
Support the EHS program, systems, and procedures to uphold adherence to local regulatory requirements and Baxter Policies
Ensure conformance to ISO 14001 and AS 4801 Standards
Develop training programs so Baxter Team Members understand their duties and can carry out their work safely, efficiently, and effectively
Promote awareness of Health Centre operations and related Health program obligations
Support facility audit programs, including routine internal self-assessments, company and division assessments, and regulatory compliance audits
Build Corrective and Preventive Actions, identify Root Causes, and close-out EHS Findings
Identify and reduce workplace hazards and employee Occupational Injuries and Illnesses. Collaborate with Health, Safety, and Return to Work Coordinator to develop programs that meet occupational health and safety requirements
Carry out Health program activities at the facility, including testing and health monitoring programs
Develop employee communication programs, community outreach activities, and programs to improve customer responsiveness
Maintain a Calendar Reminder System to ensure EHS Taskforce attendance, timely review of audits, applications, permits, and licenses
Develop frameworks to ensure regulatory adherence for ANZ Pharmacy & Supply Chain locations, encompassing regular audit schedules, data monitoring systems, and communication initiatives
Develop training programs and deliver instruction to tackle EHS issues within operations, ensuring employee safety and reducing environmental impacts
Identify and address EHS supplier, contractor, and vendor issues, coordinating efforts to minimize costs and reduce EHS risks
Record incidents, near misses, and hazards by completing the relevant report forms. Quickly notify senior management and the Environment or Health and Safety Manager about any serious near misses, hazards, or injuries
Ensure compliance with government regulations, legal documents, safety and ethical standards, acquiring legal and/or corporate compliance training as required
Carry out Industrial Hygiene tasks at the facilities, including sampling and developing Monitoring Programs.
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent experience in Health, EHS, Engineering or related fields
Prior EHS experience with Manufacturing/Operations/Pharmaceuticals/FMCG industries is good to have
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence groups and individuals
Strong interpersonal skills, passionate about generating excitement toward a common goal
Knowledge in handling ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Systems
Knowledge of Australian EHS Regulations is required
Self-starter with creative and proactive thinking abilities.
