The Environment & Safety Douro area is looking to recruit an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer (Peso da Régua).

Job Responsibility:

  • Management of the Integrated Environment and Safety Management System and EMAS registration
  • Ensure that all daily activities are carried out in accordance with the Integrated Management Systems (Environment, Prevention and Safety)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory and procedural requirements
  • Coordination of works and activities (validation and management of internal maintenance work and external service providers, monitoring of high-risk activities, preparation of intervention reports, and coordination of CSO activities)
  • Identification, assessment and implementation of risk control measures and action plans related to environmental, health and safety risks, including their periodic monitoring
  • Management of emergency response procedures, including self-protection measures, regular inspections, emergency drills, training, safety records and the implementation of emergency management control measures
  • Management of framework agreements within the Environment and Safety scope, namely waste management, fire safety, audits, CSO and work at height
  • Management of workplace incidents/accidents and environmental occurrences within the Department, including investigation and implementation of corrective and preventive measures
  • Contribution to the development and implementation of environmental and safety procedures within the Department
  • Support the planning and delivery of specific training initiatives in the areas of safety and environment
  • Participation in internal and external environmental and safety audits

Requirements:

  • Degree in Environmental Engineering, with certified training in Occupational Health and Safety (Safety Certification – Level VI)
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the field of Environment and Health & Safety
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
  • Proficiency in MS Office and its main applications, as well as SAP, is required
  • Valid driver’s license and availability to travel
