The Environment & Safety Douro area is looking to recruit an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer (Peso da Régua).
Job Responsibility:
Management of the Integrated Environment and Safety Management System and EMAS registration
Ensure that all daily activities are carried out in accordance with the Integrated Management Systems (Environment, Prevention and Safety)
Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory and procedural requirements
Coordination of works and activities (validation and management of internal maintenance work and external service providers, monitoring of high-risk activities, preparation of intervention reports, and coordination of CSO activities)
Identification, assessment and implementation of risk control measures and action plans related to environmental, health and safety risks, including their periodic monitoring
Management of emergency response procedures, including self-protection measures, regular inspections, emergency drills, training, safety records and the implementation of emergency management control measures
Management of framework agreements within the Environment and Safety scope, namely waste management, fire safety, audits, CSO and work at height
Management of workplace incidents/accidents and environmental occurrences within the Department, including investigation and implementation of corrective and preventive measures
Contribution to the development and implementation of environmental and safety procedures within the Department
Support the planning and delivery of specific training initiatives in the areas of safety and environment
Participation in internal and external environmental and safety audits
Requirements:
Degree in Environmental Engineering, with certified training in Occupational Health and Safety (Safety Certification – Level VI)
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the field of Environment and Health & Safety
Fluency in English is mandatory
Proficiency in MS Office and its main applications, as well as SAP, is required
Valid driver’s license and availability to travel
