Job Description

Join PROPER SNACKS as our Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager and help keep our Nuneaton factory safe, compliant and continuously improving. You’ll be a key member of the operations leadership team—shaping a strong safety culture, embedding best practice and ensuring we deliver great snacks with world-class standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as an integral member of the site operations leadership team
  • Provide advice, support and innovative solutions for safety and environmental problem-solving
  • Develop, implement and keep HSE procedures up to date
  • Report clearly on compliance and progress against site H&S and environmental objectives and KPIs
  • Provide operational support for the implementation and maintenance of ISO 45001
  • Implement and track practical KPIs
  • Promote a strong safety culture
  • Audit, maintain and review control measures
  • Deliver relevant training, education and communication
  • Coordinate incident investigations
  • Carry out site inspections, safety tours and audits
  • Manage the site HSE function and supporting groups

Requirements

  • EHS professional with previous experience in an EHS management role, ideally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred)
  • Comfortable working at site leadership level, influencing stakeholders and embedding safe working practices
  • Continuous improvement mindset, with experience of world-class manufacturing systems/processes (e.g., Lean / Six Sigma)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (NEBOSH Diploma / CMIOSH highly advantageous)
  • 5+ years’ leadership experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred)
  • Strong experience with risk assessments, PUWER, auditing and safety culture development
  • Proven understanding of legal systems, regulatory enforcement processes and relevant UK HSE legislation
  • Working knowledge of safety/environmental management systems (OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 / EMAS)
  • Experience writing HSE policies and supporting SOP creation for shop floor activities
  • Ability to assess current vs. future state and implement metrics to track improvement
