Pikes Peak is seeking a passionate and dedicated Environmental, Safety, and Compliance Coordinator to support and enforce environmental initiatives and safety programs across our operations on Pikes Peak. This role focuses on sustainability efforts including waste reduction, proper waste separation, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting, as well as maintaining safety compliance aligned with Aramark safety standards and metrics. This position plays a key role in ensuring environmental and safety compliance across three retail gift shop locations, offering hands-on experience in environmental sustainability, workplace safety, and fleet-related operations in an iconic natural environment.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure contractual compliance deliverables and project guidelines are met, acting as a liaison to the assigned account client
Ensure proper disposal of compost, recycle, landfill, electronic and universal waste at the gift shops and office/warehouse
Assist in coordinating proper disposal for special waste such as electronic, universal, medical, and hazardous waste
Become familiar with and assist in maintaining contractual sustainability requirements such as ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, Green Restaurant Assoc. 4-star certification, Leave No Trace Gold Standard Designation
Participate in Environmental Management System auditing process and meetings
Participate in bi-Weekly sustainability calls
Fill out measuring data in EMS (old waste weights, fuel consumption, electric usage, etc.)
Record and track greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data
Support and promote workplace safety across all assigned locations
Maintain a multi-site OSHA 300 log
Introduce, champion, and reinforce new safety practices and initiatives
Ensure compliance and become familiar with Aramark SAFE Portal, SAFE Metrics, injury reporting, Shoes For Crews (SFC), and food safety logs
Participate in bi-weekly safety calls
Assist employees in obtaining their non-slip shoes from SFC
Ensure completion and accuracy of food safety logs by Food & Beverage staff
Assist with environmental and safety training during new hire orientation
Participate in weekly leadership meetings and provide meaningful operational input
Function as site leadership-on-duty as needed
Perform additional operational tasks across the mountain as needed, including support within Food & Beverage and Retail departments
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and/or 1-2 years of experience in sustainability, environmental health and safety, workplace safety, or other experience relating to this position
OSHA and/or HAZWOPER certification
