Job Responsibility:
Assist in the structural design of a wide range of gravity and lateral structural building systems utilizing concrete, masonry, steel, and wood / timber
Train to design system layouts and calculations to support design activities
Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients as part of Klingner’s design processes
Assist in conducting structural assessments and evaluations of structures to determine their safety, durability, and compliance with applicable codes
Prepare narratives and detailed engineering reports outlining existing conditions, recommendations, and opinions of probable cost, as necessary
Assist in tracking project scope, schedule, and budget to minimize project write-offs
Leverage various software and tools to perform structural analysis, modeling, and simulations
Requirements:
A Bachelor of Science in Civil, Architectural, or Agricultural Engineering, specializing in structures
Must have intention to earn a Professional Engineer license in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, or Kentucky
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other Microsoft Office software is a must
Excellent time management skills, organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks concurrently, and a commitment to meeting deadlines and keeping projects within budget is required
Ability to conduct all projects by quality standards and Klingner procedures, with a strong focus of on accuracy and quality of work
Goal-oriented with a drive to create high-quality designs, a strong sense of commitment, the willingness to learn, and the desire to work in a team environment
Clear written and verbal communication is a must
Nice to have:
Future intentions of taking the Structural Engineer licensure is a plus
